Come join us for good tunes in Custer County. From folk and bluegrass to rock, country, Western, jazz and classical, Westcliffe’s and Silver Cliff’s music scene caters to every taste.
Our summers fill with music festivals, drawing artists and visitors from across the country. The second weekend of each July, High Mountain Hay Fever pitches its tent on The Bluff in Westcliffe for the summer’s premier event. A carefully curated collection of pickers and singers perform the best bluegrass and old-time music overlooking one of America’s most stunning backdrops.
The free Summer in the Park concert series attracts all ages to Westcliffe’s unique Feedstore Park & Amphitheater, while music camps draw top musicians teaching teens and adults. Each August, the Custer County Cowboy Gathering and Chuck Wagon Cook Off serves up good grub, with a side of Western and cowboy music at the Painted View Ranch just outside Westcliffe.
In winter, the music continues with Westcliffe‘s In Concert series of classical performances at the Historic Jones Theater.
KLZR community radio hosts performances in the Back Room, just steps from its studio on 2nd Street. The all-volunteer team also steps out into the valley for its new Rock ‘n’ Roll Jam and takes over the Feedstore Amphitheater the second Saturday in September for the High Peaks Music Festival, a special afternoon and evening highlighting local acoustic talent.
