Welcome to the official Visitor’s website for Custer County. Here, you’ll find all the information you need on where you can stay in our amazing valley and hills, local businesses that may come in handy during your visit and a calendar of upcoming events along with overviews describing some of our most interesting community assets.
Please check back often as we continue to expand this site into a hub for your vacation opportunities in the unique Wet Mountains, the breathtaking Sangre de Cristos and the stunning Wet Mountain Valley that spreads between them.
Custer County is open, wildflowers are blooming and we welcome visitors! We see some smoke most afternoons from other Colorado wildfires, but we have received no serious health warnings. However, Stage II Fire Restrictions are in place for all of Custer County. They prohibit all campfires, charcoal grills and even smoking in unenclosed areas. Click here for the full list of restrictions (see page 5 for Stage I and II fire restrictions), and THANK YOU for helping to keep Custer County safe for visitors, locals and wildlife!
